Este encontro é uma iniciativa da Rede de Antropologia Aplicada da EASA e terá lugar em Lisboa nos próximos dias 26 e 27 de outubro de 2018 com o tema “Designing the Future“. A organização da edição de 2018 é da responsabilidade da Associação Portuguesa de Antropologia (APA), do Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia (CRIA) e da Unidade de Investigação em Design e Comunicação do IADE (UNICOM/IADE).

We are proud to announce the 6th edition of the annual event WHY THE WORLD NEEDS ANTHROPOLOGISTS a symposium that explores the different applications of anthropology beyond traditional academia.
This year’s edition, significantly entitled Designing the Future, focuses on design anthropology, its methods, practical applications, and its potential for framing the future of humanity around the world.
It examines human-centred design and design thinking with emphasis on the value of ethnography in these type of processes and techniques. Acknowledging the opportunities arising from a collaborative approach between anthropology and design. The event will bring together researchers, designers, and developers from various domains to ensure an enriched discussion, facilitate collaborations, create innovation momentum, and provide a networking platform for new job opportunities.
The event will be held in the lovely city of Lisbon, Portugal, 26-27 October 2018.
The complete program will be announced on 1 June 2018, with the opening of full online registration.
