We’re living through extraordinary times! More than ever, we feel anthropologists are in an important position to add to public discussions on a broad range of topics, and contribute perspectives that might otherwise go under the radar of dominant media discourses at the moment.
We are announcing a call for proposals to participate in a new podcast series, supported by the Royal Anthropological Institute. This monthly podcast will be released via SoundCloud, Spotify, and YouTube, as part of the RAI’s new Leach Fellowship in Public Anthropology to engage the public with anthropological research via a series of events, including various festivals, projects and exhibitions over the coming years.
Each podcast will be 20-30 minutes long, featuring two anthropologists in dialogue with us, the two RAI Leach Fellows. The series will present informal conversations between anthropologists who have different lenses onto topics of interest to the wider public.
The aim is to engage in broad and topical debates, such as about climate change, migration, and the rise of digital technologies, from an anthropological perspective. We are keen to hear from anthropologists at all stages of their career, and across the smorgasbord of topics covered within our discipline.
