The dynamic team of medical anthropologists at the University of Edinburgh provide world class teaching and research within the Social Anthropology subject area and through the Edinburgh Centre for Medical Anthropology. We are developing our online profile in medical anthropology research and teaching through a peer-reviewed open-access online journal and expanding online teaching provisions for the MSc in Medical Anthropology. The successful candidate will work closely with our strong team of medical anthropologists to develop teaching and research within the subject area at large, and within medical anthropology in particular.
You will further the School’s international reputation for research in Medical Anthropology and its commitment to excellence in teaching and administration. You will present a research profile in medical anthropology, in both experience to date and in future potential, which is at the forefront of the field and also demonstrate experience, achievement and potential reflected in a growing personal teaching and supervisory portfolio. You will contribute to developing and teaching medical anthropology courses, both online and on campus, as well as contributing to core undergraduate teaching in Social Anthropology, and offering new option courses based on your research expertise and the needs of the Subject Area. You will be expected to play a full part in the collegial life of the Subject Area, the Centre for Medical Anthropology, and the School.
This full-time, open-ended position is available from 1st January 2020.
Salary: £41,526 – £49,553 (UE08) per annum
