I would be very happy to receive expressions of interest from prospective students interested in undertaking an intellectual disability research project. My own areas of interest in this area are:
- Discourse analysis and conversation analysis
- Participatory and arts methodologies
- Access to services (mental and physical healthcare) and health and social inequalities
- Training health and social care practitioners to work with people with intellectual disabilities
We can offer support and guidance for prospective students in how to prepare a competitive application. Funding panels do not receive many applications for intellectual disability projects, so are a bit more likely to look favourably at these.
