We are curating an online and (hopefully one day!) physical exhibition which explores the potential of illustration for anthropological research and dissemination.
This exhibition is part of the RAI’s new Leach Fellowship in Public Anthropology to engage the public with anthropological research via a series of events, including various festivals, projects, and exhibitions over the coming years.
So whether you’re looking for a creative way to engage with your research data during lockdown, or you have sketches you made in the field that express your ethnographic findings or experience, send them our way!
All forms of illustration will be considered, for example digital and analogue drawing, graphic reportage, comics-style narrative pieces, and photo collages. Entries will be judged by the RAI Public Anthropology Fellows, and by Ben Dix, founder of Positive Negatives who produce comics, animations, and podcasts about social and humanitarian issues. See their website for inspiration: https://positivenegatives.org
